If a site has many comments with this issue, it is possible to step through all of them and correct them.
In recent history, many of these have been packages in the * namespace that were not strictly necessary, but included as transitive dependencies of other packages.
If you do that, the updated theme will activate itself, overriding your current theme.
If this happens, re-enable your theme in the theming panel.
